Ashley Renée Watkins

Ashley Renée Watkins is a full lyric soprano and native of New Orleans, Louisiana.  She received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Oklahoma. She is an active performer on both the operatic as well as recital stage.  Her operatic roles include Rosalinde in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, La Contessa in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Mimì in Puccini’s La Bohème, the Foreign Princess in Dvořák’s Rusalka, and Mother in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors.  She will perform the role of Donna Anna of Mozart’s Don Giovanni in spring 2013.  Ashley Renée has also appeared in multiple recitals in the Dallas, TX and New Orleans, LA areas.  She will perform a Christmas concert with the Louisiana State Museum of Art in December.   

 

Ashley Renée is a new teaching artist and seasoned performer. She is actively incorporating all of her skills as an artist into the classroom.  Her goal is to help children see the arts as a pathway to discovering and acquiring new knowledge of all kinds, and have fun while doing it.
